About the Role

Duties List for the position of Lead After-School Teacher:

Supervision: Oversee children post-school, ensuring a safe environment.

Engaging Activities: Design and lead interactive projects and activities.

Homework Support: Provide help with homework and academic guidance.

Social Interaction: Foster and encourage positive interactions among students.

Structured Schedule: Manage a consistent schedule including snack times, play, and quiet activities.

Parent Communication: Keep parents informed about their children’s progress and daily activities.

Behavior Management: Implement rules and manage behavioral issues efficiently.

Staff Coordination: Work with other staff members to ensure seamless daily operations. This includes supervisory responsibilities, requiring strong management and organizational skills.

Area Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization within the childcare space.

Professional Development: Participate in training and meetings to remain informed on educational best practices.

  • One year experience working with children (preferably in a classroom setting)


  • Ability to Pass a Federal Background Check and Central Registry Investigation

  • CPR and First Aid certification is Preferred but will need to be obtained within the first 30 days.

  • Diploma/ Degree
